Abbas Kiarostami, "O Sabor da Cereja"

"It´s like a motionless window giving onto a landscape: through it, for a melancholic while, you´re fixedly looking at a single tree standing across from it. This tree acts the same way as a person. And you´re thinking that you wouldn´t trade it for all the trees in the world. This tree gives you the promise of something constant. You have a rendez-vous with it. You, you´re given to it, and the tree, it has givem itself up.
It seems to me that these fixed things have the ability to rouse our feelings."

(excerto de uma conversa entre Abbas Kiarostami e Jean-Luc Nancy, Paris, 25 de Setembro de 2000)
